Bamboo turned Windsor high chair featuring round turned finials, cove turned arm posts and a red painted surface with black carriage striping. American, 1810 – 1835.
Why is it special? With original construction throughout, this high chair has its original foot rest intact, making it somewhat of a rarity. As you can imagine looking at the wonderful wear to the foot rest, these were typically the first thing to give out. We see many high chairs where the foot rest is a replacement, or missing entirely.
