Description

GH070221  Family Sampler by Elizabeth J. Fenton, Oct 8, 1833, with Abigail T. Wakeman, Instructress. Sampler is on a plain weave background with alphabets and numerals with verse and architecture. It includes three capitol letter alphabets above a text line of small letters and numerals 1 – 12. The top two alphabets occupy two rows, each separated by a narrow dividing line. Below the alphabet and numerals is information about the family, the maker of the sampler and her “instructress” as well as two verses and a small architectural element with building, tree and medallion.  In good condition, newly mounted on archival materials.
