Windsor brace back armchair with fringed upholstered seat in green fabric. New York City.
Legend has it that King George II, taking refuge from the rain at a peasant’s cottage, was invited to sit in a simple chair that impressed him so, that he had his own furniture maker copy it. Since that time, the “Windsor” has evolved into a variety of forms. It is hard not to admire this “dressed up” New York version of a once humble chair.
